Hydronic underfloor heating installation in modern construction

Why do aerothermal and underfloor heating work so well together?

The reason is thermodynamic: hydronic underfloor heating needs water at 28–40 °C to heat efficiently. Aerothermal heat pumps —Daikin Altherma, Panasonic Aquarea, Vaillant aroTHERM, De Dietrich Alezio— produce exactly that temperature range with the maximum possible COP.

Heat emitterRequired water temperatureTypical aerothermal COPSaving vs heating oil
Underfloor heating28–40 °C4.5–5.575–80%
Fan coils40–50 °C3.8–4.565–72%
Oversized radiators50–55 °C3.0–3.555–65%
Conventional radiators60–80 °C2.0–2.830–50%

Frequently asked questions

Can underfloor heating and the heat pump be installed at separate times?

Underfloor heating must be installed during construction (before the mortar screed). The heat pump can be installed later if necessary. Enclos Instal coordinates both installations to guarantee hydraulic and electrical compatibility from day one.
